The Kilwa District BMU Network is a community-driven platform that brings together 29 Beach Management Units (BMUs) across Kilwa District, Lindi Region, Tanzania. Our mission is to strengthen sustainable fisheries management, protect marine ecosystems, and improve the livelihoods of coastal communities. Through collaboration, capacity building, and community-led initiatives, we support responsible fishing practices, promote alternative income sources, and empower women and men to participate in the governance of their coastal resources. By connecting local BMUs, we create a stronger, united voice for sustainable marine conservation and community development in Kilwa.
